Biography
Alex is currently an undergraduate pursuing a degree in Psychology with a minor in Public Health. In the lab, he is an undergraduate research assistant, assisting other lab members. Outside of the lab he enjoys camping, reading, and playing bass guitar.

Declan Smith

Biography

Declan Smith is currently an undergraduate pursuing a degree in Biochemistry. In the lab, they serve as an undergraduate research assistant, studying CD8 T cell exhaustion within the context of aging and assists other lab members. Outside of the lab, Declan enjoys reading, hiking, and foraging for mushrooms.

Cole Keenan

Biography

Cole Keenan is a Laboratory Technician in Dr. Christina Camell's lab in the Masonic Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism. He is interested in the role that aging plays in individual susceptibility to novel pathogens and how to strengthen our innate immunity. Cole loves spending time outdoors where you can find him weekend backpacking with his fiancee and daughter, duck hunting, playing hockey, or floating down the St. Croix river in a kayak.

Katie Nguyen

Biography

Katie Nguyen is currently an undergraduate student pursuing a major in Biology and a minor in Health Psychology. In the lab, she is an undergraduate research assistant that studies how aged B-cells affect metabolism in adipose tissue and assists the other lab members. Outside of the lab, Katie enjoys watching K-dramas, hanging out with friends, and journaling.

Victor Kruglov

Biography
Victor Kruglov is currently an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development and Computational Biology. In the lab, he serves as an undergraduate research assistant, where he is studying the immune responses of aged macrophages and assists other lab members. Victor's interests outside of the lab involve listening to lo-fi music, reading, design, and photography.

Anna Carey

Biography

Anna Carey obtained her B.S. in Biochemistry at the University of Virginia in 2020 and joined the Camell lab in March 2021 for her Ph.D. studies in Pharmacology, which she successfully defended in December 2024. Dr. Carey is now a research scientist in the Camell lab investigating aging adipose tissue and immune-metabolic crosstalk using molecular biology and bioinformatic methods. In addition to her lab work, Anna loves hiking, playing cards and board games, and hanging out with her cat.
